A finite set \(F\) of points in the Euclidean plane is \(k\)-isosceles if every \(k\)-point subset \(F'\) of \(F\) contains a point equidistant from two other points of \(F'\). The authors disprove a conjecture posed by \textit{P. Fishburn} [Discrete Comput. Geom. 19, No. 3, 391--398 (1998; Zbl 0938.52013)] constructing two 4-isosceles 9-point sets. In addition, they give 34 examples of 4-isosceles 8-point sets differently from Fisher's 11 examples and pose the conjecture that no 10-point set is 4-isosceles. All the shown examples start at the vertices of the regular pentagon.
