The author gives a direct proof of an earlier result of T. Hytönen on Calderón-Zygmund operators. The proof is based on three main ingredients: a geometric argument involving dyadic cubes and sparse subfamilies of cubes; the Muckenhoupt condition for \(1<p<\infty\); and mapping properties of fractional maximal operators.
