On the regularity of the \(L_p\) Minkowski problem (Q1932417)

It is known that the \(L^p\) Minkowski problem is equivalent to the problem to solve the Monge-Ampére equation \(\det(u_{ij}+u\delta_{ij})=u^{p-1}f \) on \(S^n\). In general, solutions of the Monge-Ampére equation are not smooth even when the prescribed positive function \(f\) is smooth. The authors show that, adding a gradient assumption on \(f\), the solutions are \(C^\infty\).
