This paper concerns with recent results from finite to infinite-dimensional phenomena in geometric functional analysis which were presented at invited lecture held at IMC 98 in Berlin Technical University. It is a survey work to sum up recent results of fields medalists Bourgain and Gower, and also Maurey, Mankiewicz, the author and others. The reader of this paper will find most developed results on geometry of Banach spaces.
