\textit{J. E. Flaherty} and \textit{J. B. Keller} [Commun. Pure Appl. Math. 26, 565--580 (1973; Zbl 0255.73025)] suggested a formula for the effective elastic property of a two-phase high-contrast periodic composite with densely packed inclusions. This formula was proved by \textit{H. Kang} and \textit{S. Yu} [Calc. Var. Partial Differ. Equ. 59, No. 1, Paper No. 22, 13 p. (2020; Zbl 1439.35160)]. The proof was based on the Keller-type test functions and the dual principle. In the present paper, the authors write ``However, these singular functions are only valid for two adjacent hard circular inclusions or elliptic inclusions. When the inclusions are of general convex shape, there will be trouble to apply the primal-dual principle, especially, to drive a suitable lower bound.'' But I think that the proof by Kang and Yu [loc. cit.] holds for any convex smooth shape except in the case of zero curvature of inclusions at the closest points between neighbor inclusions. In the present paper, the Flaherty-Keller formula is extended to \(m\)-convex inclusions (\(m>2\)) whose boundary is defined by equation \(|x_1|^m + |x_2|^m = r^m\). This extends the previous result to inclusions with zero curvature.
