Let \(\left( M,g\right) \) be a \(d\)-dimensional (\(d\geq 3\)) Hadamard manifold. The authors study the existence of non-zero non-negative solutions invariant under the action of a prescribed family of isometries and also the authors estimate the number of pairs of sign-changing solutions of the following elliptic Yamabe-type equation: \(-\Delta _{g}w+w=\left\vert w\right\vert ^{\frac{4}{d-2}}w+\lambda \alpha \left( \sigma \right) f\left( w\right) \), where \(\lambda >0\), \(\sigma \in M\), \(w\in H_{g}^{1}\left( M\right) =\) the completion of \(C_{0}^{\infty }\left( M\right) \) in the \(W^{1,2}\)-norm and \(\alpha ,f:M\rightarrow\mathbb{R}\). The authors prove the existence of such \(H_{g}^{1}\)-solutions under the action of a specific family of isometries, non-zero, non-negative and radially symmetric \(\alpha \in L^{1}\cap L^{\infty }\) and \(f\) satisfying certain asymptotic conditions at the origin and at infinity. The authors also obtain the estimate of the number of pairs of sign-changing solutions when \(M=\mathbb{R}^{d},\) \(d>3\) assuming `the nonlinearity is odd'.
