Let \(\Omega\subset\mathbb{C}\) be a domain and let \(E\subset\overline\Omega\). It is well-know that if \(g\in\mathcal{O}(\Omega)\) is such that \(|g|\leq1\) and \(|g|\leq\varepsilon\) on \(E\) for some \(0<\varepsilon<1\), then \(|g|\leq\varepsilon^{-\omega_{E,\Omega}}\), where \(\omega_{E,\Omega}\) stands for the relative extremal function. The author discusses some elementary cases in which the function \(\omega_{E,\Omega}\) may be effectively calculated.
