    Let \(H^ 2\) denote the Hardy space of functions analytic on the open unit disk \(D\), \(d\mu=p dx\) be a measure on the interval \([0,1]\). Consider the operator \(T: H^ 2\to L^ 2([0,1],p dx)\) defined by \(Tf=f\mid_{[0,1]}\). If \(p\) tends to 0 monotonically as \(x\to 1\) then there are constants \(C_ 1\), \(C_ 2\) and \(C_ 3\) such that for every \(n\) and for every \(\delta\), \(0<\delta<1\), \[ S_ n(T)\leq C_ 1\exp\left(-{n\pi\over\ln\delta^{-1}}\right)+C_ 2\sqrt{p(1-\delta)}, \qquad S_ n(T)\geq C_ 3\exp\left(-{n\pi\over\ln\delta^{- 1}}\right)\sqrt{p(1-\delta)}, \] where \(S_ n(T)\) are the \(S\)-numbers of \(T\). The author has also found an asymptotic formula for \(\ln S_ n(T)\) in terms of \(\ln p(x)\).
