Difference equations with fuzzy coefficients were introduced by \textit{E. Y. Deeba} et al. [J. Difference Equ. Appl. 2, No.~4, 365--372 (1996; Zbl 0882.39002)]. This paper is a generalization of the previous authors' results [cf. Soft Comp. 6, No.~6, 456--461 (2002; Zbl 1033.39014); Fuzzy Sets Syst. 140, No.~3, 523--539 (2003; Zbl 1049.39008)] and discusses the nonlinear recurrence formula \[ X_{n+1} = A + {{\sum\limits_{i=1}^{k}C_{i}X_{n-i}} \over{\sum\limits_{j=1}^{m}D_{j}X_{n-j}}} \] with fuzzy coefficients \(A, C_i, D_j, i=1,\dots,k; j=1,\dots,m\), and fuzzy initial values \(X_{-i}, i=0,\dots,max(k,m)\). Under additional assumptions about the above family of fuzzy numbers, the existence, convergence, periodicity, oscillation and divergence of fuzzy solutions are described.
