In this very nice paper the authors' purpose is to show in a geometric way notions like normality. As the title of the paper suggests, a walk in the plane is associated with each real number (in particular with its base 4-expansion). The shape of the walk tells how ``random'' the real number is. Several theorems are indicated, and -- of course -- open questions. A bibliography of 47 items concludes the paper. The reviewer would like to add a few authors who were interested -- directly or indirectly -- in a similar approach, and who are not cited here: in particular J. Coquet, F. M. Dekking and J.-M. Deshouillers [the first two authors noted the link between Thue-Morse and von Koch in the 1980's -- this link was rediscovered in Ref. [\textit{Jun Ma} and \textit{Judy Holdener}, When Thue-Morse meets Koch. Fractals 13, No. 3, 191--206 (2005; Zbl 1110.28007)]. For references of these older papers and of related papers, see, e.g., [the reviewer and \textit{G. Skordev}, von Koch and Thue-Morse revisited, Fractals 15, No. 4, 405--409 (2007; Zbl 1151.28007)] or [\textit{D. H. Bailey}, \textit{J. M. Borwein}, \textit{R. E. Crandall} and \textit{C. Pomerance}, On the binary expansions of algebraic numbers, J. Théor. Nombres Bordx. 16, 487--518 (2007; Zbl 1076.11045)].
