In this article, the authors prove several extensions of the classical Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem, which combines the Banach contraction principle and the Schauder fixed point theorem, in Banach spaces endowed with the weak topologies. Among those extensions, one can find the following result. Let \(K\) be a nonempty bounded closed and convex subset of a Banach space \(E\). Suppose that \(T: E \to E\) and \(S: K \to E\) are such that: {\parindent=0.7cm \begin{itemize}\item[(i)] \(T\) is a \(\omega\omega\)-compact contraction with a constant \(\alpha<1\); \item[(ii)] \(S\) is \(\omega s\)-compact on \(K\); \item[(iii)] \([x=Tx+Sy,\;y \in K] \Longrightarrow x\in K\); \item[(iv)] \(S\) is a strictly \((1-\alpha)-\omega\) set contractive map. \end{itemize}} Then there exists \(x^\ast\in K\) with \(Sx^\ast+Tx^\ast=x^\ast\). As an application of their results, the authors prove an existence theorem for the following functional-Hammerstein integral equation of the form \[ x(t)=g(t,x(t))+\lambda\int\limits_0^1 \kappa (t,s)f(s,x(s))\,ds, \quad t\in (0,1), \] considered in the space \(L^1(0,1)\) of real Lebesgue integrable functions, defined on the interval \((0,1)\).
