Let \(n\) be a positive integer. A conjugacy class of elements of order \(n\) in a finite group \(G\) is denoted by \(nX\). A finite group \(G\) is called \(nX\)-complementary generated if for every non-identity element \(x\) in \(G\), there is a \(y\) in \(nX\) such that \(G=\langle x,y\rangle\). In the paper under review the authors prove that the sporadic simple group \(Fi_{23}\) is \(nX\)-complementary generated if and only if \(n>12\) or \(n=7,8,10,11\) or \(nX\) is one of the conjugacy classes of \(Fi_{23}\) denoted by 6N, 6O, 9D, 9E, 12C, 12D, \dots, 12O.
