Convexity can be defined and described in many ways. One can extend the vector space formulation to a metric setting, as in [\textit{W. Takahashi}, Kōdai Math. Semin. Rep. 22, 142--149 (1970; Zbl 0268.54048)], or one can axiomatize properties of `the family of convex sets', as in [\textit{M. L. J. van de Vel}, Theory of convex structures. North-Holland Mathematical Library. 50. Amsterdam: North-Holland (1993; Zbl 0785.52001)]. The present paper takes the metric formulation and adapts it to \(T_0\)-quasi-metrics. It postulates a function \(W:X\times X\times[0,1]\to X\) that satisfies \(d(z,W(x,y,\lambda))\leq \lambda d(z,x)+(1-\lambda)d(z,y)\) and \(d(W(x,y,\lambda),z)\leq \lambda d(x,z)+(1-\lambda)d(y,z)\) for all~\(x\), \(y\), \(z\), and \(\lambda\). Many of the metric results will hold in this setting as well, provided the formulation takes the asymmetry inherent in quasi-metrics into account.
