For a quasiconformal (qc) homeomorphism \(f: D \to D'\) between subdomains \(D, D' \subset \mathbb{R}^n\), \( n\geq 2\), let \(Z_f\) stand for the set of those points where the mapping \(f\) is not differentiable or where the Jacobian matrix is degenerate. It is a basic property that \(Z_f\) has \(n\)-dimensional measure zero. This small set has been in the focus of comprehensive studies, written by many authors, for follwing reason: the behavior of the mapping may be wild at its points. For instance, the mapping may be non-Lipschitz at the points of \(Z_f\), the Hausdorff dimension of a non-empty set \( E \subset Z_f\) may be different from the dimension of \(fE\), and the partial derivatives of the mapping may have weaker local integrability properties at the points of \(E\) than elsewhere. The authors introduce a new kind of dilatation \(D_f(x)\) and prove the following theorem. Let \(f: \mathbb{B}^n \to \mathbb{B}^n, f(0)=0,\) be a qc map such that \[ \lim \sup_{t \to 0} \frac{1}{\Omega_n t^n} \int_{|x|<t} D_f(x) \, dx \leq \frac{1}{M} \] holds for a constant \(M>0\). Then for each \(0 < \alpha< M^{1/(n-1)}\), there is a constant \(C\) such that \[ |f(x)| \leq C |x|^{\alpha},\qquad x\in \mathbb{B}^n . \] Note that if \(M>1\), then \(f\) is locally Lipschitz at \(0\,.\)
