The nonsimilar boundary layer solutions are presented to study the mixed convective flow of a power-law fluid above a vertical adiabatic surface in a transverse magnetic field with a steady thermal source at the leading edge. The boundary layer equations contain an important mixed convection parameter. The governing nonsimilar equations are solved by means of a novel finite difference scheme for several values of the power-law viscosity index, the buoyancy parameter and non-Newtonian Prandtl number of the fluid.
