The Plateau-Douglas problem refers to the existence of a minimal surface bounded by a given system of Jordan curves and having prescribed genus and character of orientability [\textit{J. Douglas}, J. Math. Phys. 15, 105-123 (1936; Zbl 0015.02803); \textit{R. Courant}, Ann. Math., II. Ser. 38, 679-724 (1937; Zbl 0017.26802); \textit{M. Shiffman}, Am. J. Math. 61, 853-882 (1939; Zbl 0023.13704); \textit{J. Jost}, Two-dimensional geometric variational problems, John Wiley Interscience, Chichester (1991; Zbl 0729.49001), etc.]. In this paper, the solution of the Plateau-Douglas problem is presented for nonorientable minimal surfaces of higher genus in Riemannian manifolds.
