The author establishes that a curve \(\Gamma\) is quasiconformal (i.e. the quasiconformal image of a segment) iff it satisfies Ahlfors' condition (that is there exists a constant \(C>1\) such that \[ | z_ 1- z_ 2|+ | z_ 2- z_ 3|\leq C| z_ 1- z_ 3|\quad\text{for all points } z_ 1,z_ 2,z_ 3\in \Gamma \] so that \(z_ 2\) separates \(z_ 1\) and \(z_ 3\)). Hence, he deduces that every set \(X\subset\mathbb{C}\) (\(\mathbb{C}\) the complex plane) which satisfies Ahlfors' condition with constant \(C\) (in every quasiconformal curve) is a porous set [cf. \textit{E. P. Dolzhenko}, Izv. Akad. Nauk SSSR, Ser. Mat. 31, 3-14 (1967; Zbl 0177.106)]. Next, he obtains an upper bound for the Hausdorff dimension of a set, deducing that the Hausdorff dimension of every plane quasiconformal curve is strictly less than two. Finally, he proves that the Hausdorff dimension of various quasiconformal curves cover the interval \([1,2[\).
