Multiple existence of solutions for nonlinear variational inequalities (Q1336315)

In this paper, the author proves the multiple existence of solutions for a nonlinear variational inequality, using the homotopy index theory for infinite-dimensional semiflows. By using a result for nonlinear evolution equations, a semiflow associated with the nonlinear variational inequality is found. By calculating homotopy indices of equilibrium of the semiflow, the author proves the existence and nonuniqueness of nontrivial solutions for the considered variational inequality.
