The author considers a quasistatic thermoelastic contact problem for a disc and a ring. Under the axial symmetry, the displacement can be expressed in terms of the temperature differences \(\theta^i\), \(i=1,2\), leading to a nonlocal parabolic system for \(\theta^i\). A suitable transformation leads finally to a parabolic system that can be solved and yields the well-posedness of the original problem.
