The main idea of the paper is to reduce full structured uncertainty into block-diagonal structure. Then the standard block diagonal problem may be treated by the structured singular value method for robustness analysis. The author proves that \(n^2\) uncertainties in the primary uncertain system may be exactly replaced by \(2n-1\) uncertainties in the block diagonal structure. The results are applicable in a general setting for both robust stability and robust performance problems involving multiple uncertainties. Moreover, the author demonstrate how his results can be used to reduce the number of vertices-to-check real interval matrix problems.
