We have here an extension of the theory of diagnosability of decentralized discrete event systems. Two models of coordinated decentralized protocols are described, that is the Protocol ID and the Protocol 2D, and both of them provide performances which compare with those of other schemes presently available in the literature. The on-line diagnostic process is carried through the diagnosers implemented at the local sites, that is to say in a decentralized scheme. This approach requires a considerable amount of additional memory and processing at the coordinator site.
