    An arithmetic function is called specially multiplicative, if it is the Dirichlet convolution of two completely multiplicative functions. There exist some known characterizations of such functions in the literature. The author provides some further characterizations, by extending results by Sivaramakrishnan, Apostol and Carlitz.
