The Lah numbers appear in combinatorics and can be characterized as the connection coefficients between the Pochhammer symbols \((-x)_n\) and \((x)_n\). This fact is used to obtain the connection coefficients between \((-x)_n\) and certain discrete classical hypergeometric orthogonal polynomials \(P_n(x)\) with \(-x\) as a numerator parameter in the hypergeometric series representation. These coefficients lead to involutory triangular matrices.
