The authors propose a systematic method for constructing a \((2+1)\)-dimensional integrable Hamiltonian field and lattice-field dynamical systems by extending the \(R\)-matrix approach from \((1+1)\) dimensions to \((2+1)\) dimensions. The method is based on the so-called central extension method, which allows to construct integrable field and lattice field Hamiltonian systems, together with the related hierarchies of commuting symmetries in two dimensions.
