The authors consider the equation \(\ddot x+\alpha\dot x+ (\omega^2 +h\cos (\Omega t)+\rho \cos(\nu t)) x+\xi x^3=0\), where parameters \(\alpha, \xi,h,\rho, \nu\) are small. Attention is focused on the construction of explicit approximate analytical quasi-periodic solutions, whose validity is then examined by comparing to the direct numerical integration of the equation. The procedure consists in applying the multiple-scale technique twice to obtain an autonomous reduced system. Then, by introducing the variable change \(u=a\cos (\gamma)\), \(v=-a\sin (\gamma)\), the authors derive reduced modulation equations for amplitude \(\alpha\) and phase \(\gamma\). Analytical solutions of these equations are obtained.
