The authors undertake an asymptotic analysis of high frequency wave propagation in random media. Two regimes are studied in particular: the paraxial approximation for collimated waves, and the white-noise limit where random fluctuations in the background are well approximated by fractional white noise. The fractional Itô-Schrödinger equation is also derived. The main result is a convergence theorem for an approximate process (pulse front), which is obtained using moment methods. Various properties of the Itô-Schrödinger equation are obtained along the way.
