The paper is a survey of developments on the stability analysis of steady shock solutions for supersonic flow onto solid wedges in two spatial dimensions. The governing equations are full Euler equations with total and internal energy taken into account. Equations are either steady or dynamical (with velocity potential in the latter case). The author analyses the stability of both weak and strong shock waves focusing on formulating the wedge problem mathematically, and he discusses challenges and open problems.
