Projection methods solving rectangular systems of linear equations (Q1112556)

The paper gives a survey on 39 papers concerning stationary and instationary linear iterative one-step methods for over- or underdetermined systems of linear algebraic equations as well as techniques for acceleration of convergence. The limits of the iterates are generalized solutions and generalized matrix inverses, respectively, of different types. The basic results are already contained both in the author's dissertation [Nova Acta Leopold., Neue Folge 52, No.238 (1979; Zbl 0416.65029)] and in his book [Vorlesungen über numerische Mathematik. I. (1984; Zbl 0556.65018)].
