The authors concider the integrodifferential equation \[ x'(t)= A\Biggl[x(t)+ \int^t_0 F(t- s)x(s)\,ds\Biggr]+ f(t,x(t))+ \int^t_0 g\Biggl(t,s,x(s), \int^t_0 k(s,\tau, x(\tau))\,d\tau\Biggr)\,ds \] with a nonlocal condition \[ x(0)+ h(x(t_1),\dots, x(t_p))= x_0, \] where \(A\) generates a strongly continuous semigroup in a Banach space \(X\), \(F(t)\) a bounded operator on \(X\) and further conditions for the occurring functions. The existence of a mild solution is proved with the Schauder fixed point theorem. If \(X\) is a reflexive Banach space and further assumptions are fulfilled, the authors prove that the unique mild solution is the unique strong solution. Moreover, they study the controllability of the problem and finally they concider the heat equation for material with memory as an example. A long list of references to this subject is given.
