The paper is concerned with an equiconvergence result of \textit{J. L. Walsh} [Interpolation and approximation by rational functions in the complex domain (1965; Zbl 0146.299)], stating that the difference of the partial sums of a function holomorphic only in a disk of radius r \((>1)\) and the polynomials (of the same degrees) interpolating the function in roots of unity, converge to zero in \(| z| <r^ 2\). The authors reinterpret and study this problem within the framework of analytic complexity and optimal recovery scheme.
