By extending \textit{J. Dundurs}' results [J. Composite Materials 1, 310-322 (1967)] for an isotropic bimaterial composite, the authors prove that two completely determined real matrices of type \(2\times 2\), which are shown to be an extension of Dundurs' parameters to anisotropic bimaterial, are the only bimaterial parameters needed to describe the stress fields for traction-prescribed problems in anisotropic bimaterial solids undergoing plane deformation. Using the analytic continuation techniques [see e.g. \textit{Z. Suo}, Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 427, 331-358 (1990; Zbl 0706.73065)], the authors obtain general solutions for the stress and displacement fields in an anisotropic bimaterial with a straight interface. Finally, the complete stress field near the tip of a crack between two dissimilar anisotropic linearly elastic homogeneous media is given in terms of the generalized Dundurs' parameters.
