Denote by \(\varphi:\ \mathbb{D}\rightarrow \mathbb{D}\) a self-analytic map of the unit disk \(\mathbb{D}=\{z: |z|<1\}\). The composition operator \(C_{\varphi}\) is defined as follows: for an analytic function \(f\) on \(\mathbb{D}\), \((C_{\varphi})f(z)=f(\varphi(z))\). In this paper, the weighted Bergman space consists of analytic functions on \(\mathbb{D}\) which satisfy \[\int_{\mathbb{D}}|f(z)|^{p}(1-|z|)^{\alpha}\, dA(z)<\infty\] for \(0<\alpha<\infty\) and \(0<p<\infty\). The Bloch type space is defined for analytic functions on \(\mathbb{D}\) which satisfy \[\sup_{z\in \mathbb{D}}\mu(z)|f'(z)|<\infty,\] where \(\mu(z)\) is a fixed positive continuous function on \(\mathbb{D}\). The authors compute upper and lower bounds for the essential norm of difference of composition operators mapping the weighted Bergman space into Bloch-type spaces.
