The authors give affirmative answers to the following questions: (1) Is it possible to construct an approximate fixed point sequence for the class of asymptotically pseudocontractive operators in spaces more general than Hilbert spaces? (2) Can an iterative algorithm be constructed which converges to a fixed point of an asymptotically pseudocontractive operator in Banach spaces which include \(L_p\) spaces, \(1<p<+\infty\)?
