The authors introduce a method of resolution of a symplectic orbifold into a smooth symplectic manifold and apply it to constructing a simply connected compact symplectic manifold of dimension \(8\) which satisfies the Lefschetz property. We notice that examples of such manifolds of any dimension greater or equal than \(10\) were previously constructed by the first author [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 359, No.~1, 333--348 (2007; Zbl 1115.53060)] and all closed simply connected manifolds of dimension less than \(7\) are formal. Thus this article gives a positive answer in the last possible dimension to a question posed by \textit{I. K. Babenko} and \textit{I. A. Taimanov} [Global differential geometry: the mathematical legacy of Alfred Gray. Proceedings of the international congress on differential geometry held in memory of Professor Alfred Gray, Bilbao, Spain, September 18--23, 2000. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS). Contemp. Math. 288, 1--9 (2001; Zbl 1017.53067)]. Therewith the nonformality is detected by using the so-called \(a\)-Massey products which are simpler for computations than original Massey products and were first used by the second and the third authors for constructing examples of simply connected compact nonformal symplectic manifolds of dimension \(8\) (in other possible dimensions, i.e., \(\geq 10\) such examples were first constructed by \textit{I. K. Babenko} and \textit{I. A. Taimanov} in [Russ. Math. Surv. 53, No. 5, 1082--1083 (1998); translation from Usp. Mat. Nauk. 53, No. 5, 225--226 (1998; Zbl 0972.53049)].
