The authors make a thorough study of the spaces \(L^p(m)\) and \(L^p_w(m)\), consisting of those functions which are, respectively, \(p\)-integrable or weakly \(p\)-integrable with respect to a vector measure \(m: \Sigma\to X\) (here \(X\) is a Banach space, and \(p>1\)). The theory of integration of scalar functions with respect to vector a measure was founded by \textit{R.\,G.\,Bartle, N.\,Dunford} and \textit{J.\,Schwartz} [Can.\ J.\ Math.\ 7, 289--305 (1955; Zbl 0068.09301)] and \textit{D.\,R.\,Lewis} [Pac.\ J.\ Math.\ 33, 157--165 (1970; Zbl 0195.14303)]. The study of the spaces of integrable functions was started by \textit{I.\,Kluvanek} and \textit{G.\,Knowles} [``Vector measures and control systems'' (Math.\ Stud.\ 20, North--Holland, Amsterdam) (1976; Zbl 0316.46043)]; the space of weakly integrable functions was first considered by \textit{G.\,Stefánsson} [Matematiche 48, 219--234 (1993; Zbl 0827.46042)]; and the study of the spaces \(L^p(m)\) was started by \textit{E.\,A.\,Sánchez-Pérez} [Ill.\ J.\ Math.\ 45, 907--923 (2001; Zbl 0992.46035)]. In the paper under review, many of the results known for \(L^1(m)\) are studied for \(L^p(m)\), such as order continuity, reflexivity, weak sequential completeness, compactness and weak compactness of the integration map. The inclusion relations between the families of spaces \(L^p(m)\) and \(L^p_w(m)\) are considered in detail. A representation theorem for abstract \(p\)-convex, order continuous Banach lattices with a weak order unit is proven; this theorem extends the result (for \(p=1\)) in [\textit{G.\,P.\,Curbera}, Math.\ Ann.\ 293, 317--330 (1992; Zbl 0735.46033)].
