The succsessive overrelaxation method (SOR) is considered for solving a linear system, when the matrix has a block \(p\times p\) partitioned \(p\)-cyclic form and the associated Jacobi matrix is weakly cyclic of index \(p\). The existence and uniqueness of the one-point problem for the general \(p\)-cyclic complex SOR case are established. For the determination of optimal parameters an algorithm is presented.
