The authors consider finite groups and the following conditions: (Y) If \(H\subseteq G\) and \(q\) is a prime divisor of \(|G:H|\), then there is \(K\subseteq G\) such that \(H\subset K\) and \(|K:H|=q\); (\(Z_p\)) If \(X\) is a \(p\)-subgroup of \(G\) and the prime power \(q^m\) divides \(|G:XO_{p'}(G)|\), then there is \(K\subseteq G\) such that \(K\subseteq G\) and \(XO_{p'}(G)\subset K\) and \(|K:XO_{p'}(G)|=q^m\); (\(Z_p'\)) \(G\) is \(p\)-nilpotent or \(G(p)/O_{p'}(G(p))\) is a Sylow \(p\)-subgroup of \(G/O_{p'}(G(p))\) and for every \(p\)-subgroup \(H\) of \(G(p)\) we have \(G=G(p)N_G(H)\). Here \(G(p)=O^{pp'}(G)\). Main results: (\(Z_p\)) and (\(Z_p'\)) are equivalent (Theorem 3), a solvable group satisfies (Y) iff it satisfies all (\(Z_p\)) (Theorem 15); the class of all \(p\)-nilpotent groups is the largest formation contained in the class (\(Z_p\)) (Theorem 16).
