The exterior Tricomi problem for generalized mixed equations with parabolic degeneracy (Q2505387)

The author considers the exterior Tricomi problem for general second-order equations of mixed type with parabolic degeneracy in a doubly connected domain: \[ K(y)u_{xx}+ u_{yy}+ a(x,y) u_x+ b(x,y) u_y+ c(x,y) u= -d(x,y), \] where \[ K= K(y)\,\begin{cases} >0\quad &\text{for }\{y> 0\}\cup\{y<- 1\},\\ = 0\quad &\text{for }\{y= 0\}\cup\{y= -1\},\\ < 0\quad &\text{for }\{-1< y< 0\}.\end{cases} \] At first the representation of solutions of the problem for the equations is given, and then the uniqueness and existence of solutions are proved by a new method.
