A well-known conjecture states that there exists a constant \(\gamma> 0\), such that for every dimension \(d\) and every centrally symmetric convex body \(C\) in \(\mathbb{R}^d\), there exists an hyperplane \(H\) of \(\mathbb{R}^d\) such that if \(|\cdot|\) denotes the volume in \(\mathbb{R}^d\) and in \(H\), \(| H\cap C|\geq\gamma| C|^{{d-1\over d}}\). This problem is equivalent to the boundedness of the isotropy constant of \(C\) defined by \(L^2_C= \min\{\int_C\| x\|^2_{\mathcal E} dx/d| C|^{1+{2\over d}}\); \({\mathcal E}\) ellipsoid, \(|{\mathcal E}|= v_d\}\), where \(v_d\) is the volume of the Euclidean unit ball. It was proved by J. Bourgain that \(L_C\leq d^{{1\over 4}}\ln(d)\), and by several authors that the conjecture is true for various classes of convex bodies. For \(1\leq p<2\), the unit ball \(B(S^n_p)\) of the Schatten trace class \(S^n_p\) does not belong to these classes and was a natural candidate for a counter-example. But it is proved in this paper that there exists a constant \(c>0\) such that for all \(n\geq 1\) and \(p\in [1,+\infty]\), \(L_{B(S^n_p)}\leq c\).
