Let \(k\) be a field, and \(X,A\) bialgebras. Then \((X,A)\) is called a matched pair of bialgebras if \(X\) is a left \(A\)-module coalgebra and \(A\) is a right \(X\)-module coalgebra such that certain compatibility conditions are satisfied. In this case a bialgebra structure, called a double crossproduct \(X\times A\), was defined on the space \(X\otimes A\) by \textit{S. Majid} [Int. J. Mod. Phys. A 5, No. 1, 1-91 (1990; Zbl 0709.17009)]. On the other hand, if \(X\) and \(A\) are bialgebras, any skew pairing \(\tau\colon X\otimes A\to k\) in the sense of \textit{Y. Doi} and \textit{M. Takeuchi} [Commun. Algebra 22, No. 14, 5715-5732 (1994; Zbl 0821.16038)] induces a matched pair of bialgebras \((X,A)\), and hence a double crossproduct \(X\times_\tau A\). The aim of the paper under review is to give necessary and sufficient conditions such that a double crossproduct \(X\times A\) is a double crossproduct \(X\times_\tau A\) for some skew pairing \(\tau\).
