A generalization of the Bendixson-Dulac criterion which is used for the investigation of the possibility of limit cycles for the differential equations in the plane is given. On the base of the new criterion necessary conditions that exclude limit cycles and closed phase polygons for some classes of dynamical systems are obtained.
