Let \(F : X\to {\mathcal P}(Y)\) be a set-valued map. Then by \(Sel(F)\) the author denotes the set \(\{ f : X\to Y : f\, \mathrm{is a selector of}\, F\}\). For a given set-valued map \(F : X \to {\mathcal P}(Z)\) from a topological space \(X\) to a metric space \((Z, d)\), he studies distances from the set of selectors \(Sel(F)\) to spaces of continuous functions and Baire one functions. He proves the following theorems: { Theorem A.} Let \(X\) be a paracompact space and let \(Z\) be a convex subset of a normed space \(E\). If \(F : X\to {\mathcal P}(Z)\) is a set-valued map such that \(F(x)\) is convex for each \(x\in X\) then \({1\over 2} lc(F) \leq d(Sel(F),C(X, Z)) \leq lc^{\ast} (F)\leq lc(F)\). { Theorem B.} Let \(X\) be a normal and countably paracompact space and let \(Z\) be a separable convex subset of a normed space \(E\). If \(F : X\to {\mathcal P}(Z)\) is a set-valued map such that \(F(x)\) is convex for each \(x\in X\) then \({1\over 2} lc(F) \leq d(Sel(F),C(X, Z)) \leq lc^{\ast} (F)\leq lc(F)\). { Theorem C.} Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be metric spaces, \(E\) a Banach space and \(E^{\ast\ast}\) the bidual space. If \(F : X \times Y \to {\mathcal P}(E^{\ast\ast})\) is a set-valued map then \(d(Sel(F), B_1(X\times Y, E)) \leq {3\over 2} \sup\{oscz : z\in F(X\times Y )\} + \sup_{x\in X} osc^{\ast}_{w^{\ast}}(F_x ) + \sup_{ y\in Y} osc^{\ast}_{w^{\ast}}(F^y) + osc^{\ast}_{w^{\ast}}(F)\), where \(z \in F(X\times Y )\subset E^{\ast\ast}\) is considered as function on \((B_{E^{\ast}},w ^{\ast})\).
