\textit{J. Arazy} and \textit{S. D. Fisher} [Ill. J. Math. 29, 449-462 (1985; Zbl 0575.30043)] proved that on the unit disk \(D\) in \(\mathbb{C}\) there is a unique Möbius invariant Hilbert space of holomorphic functions which turns out to be the classical Dirichlet space. Also \textit{J. Arazy}, \textit{S. D. Fisher} and \textit{J. Peetre} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 363, 110-145 (1985; Zbl 0566.30042)] constructed a space on \(D\) that is minimal in the class of Möbius invariant Banach spaces. For \(n>1\) \textit{K. Zhu} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 323, No. 2, 823-842 (1991; Zbl 0739.46009)] and independently Peetre (unpublished) proved the existence of a unique Möbius invariant Hilbert space on the unit ball in \(\mathbb{C}^ n\). But no characterization of this space was given which would extend the Dirichlet space to higher dimensions. \textit{J. Arazy} and \textit{S. D. Fisher} [Integral Equations Operator Theory, to appear] showed there exists a unique Möbius invariant Hilbert space of holomorphic functions on any bounded symmetric space. The purpose of the present paper is to study Möbius invariant spaces on the unit ball in \(\mathbb{C}^ n\). A space \({\mathcal M}\) analogous to the space on the unit disk is constructed and is shown to be minimal in the class of Möbius invariant spaces. There are also some results about weighted Besov spaces on the ball. These are identified with quotients of certain \(L^ p\) spaces and an atomic decomposition of these spaces à la \textit{R. R. Coifman} and \textit{R. Rochberg} [\textit{Astérisque} 77, 11-66 (1980; Zbl 0472.46040)] is given. As well, it is proved that \({\mathcal M}\) can be identified with the 1-Besov space \(B_ 1\). From this it follows that the Besov spaces \(B_ p\) with \(1\leq p<\infty\) are Möbius invariant. The 2- Besov space \(B_ 2\) is shown to be the unique Hilbert space of holomorphic functions that is Möbius invariant and there is an explicit description of the invariant inner product. Among other properties of the invariant inner product, it is shown that the dual of \({\mathcal M}\) is the Bloch space.
