The embedding functions of an intermediate space \(A\) into a Banach couple \((A_{0},A_{1})\) are defined as its embedding constants into the couples \((\frac{1}{\alpha}A_{0},\frac{1}{\beta}A_{1}),\) for all \(\alpha,\beta>0.\) Using these functions, properties of different intermediate spaces are studied and a new description is given of all real interpolation spaces and an extension of Krein-Semenov's interpolation theorem is obtained. The precise statements are to technical to be given here. My opinion is that this paper is interesting for those who are working in interpolation theory.
