A connectedness property of algebraic moment maps. (Q1858272)

Let \(G\) be a connected compact Lie group and \(M\) an Hamiltonian \(G\)-manifold with the momentum map \(J:M\to g^*\). A well known theorem of Kirwan asserts: If \(M\) is connected and compact then the level sets of \(\mu\) are connected. In the paper under review the author proves the same result but in the context of algebraic varieties.
