Some elementary results for fractional integral operators defined in the introduction section of the paper have been derived. These include composition of fractional integral operators so defined as also the commutativity property of these operators. The following references (containing information about the S. M. Joshi and P. Joshi operators of fractional integration and the S. M. P. J. formula besides the S. M. Joshi transform involving a hypergeometric function kernel) might usefully be added to the bibliography section: The reviewer [Bull. Inst. Math., Acad.
