The book provides an introduction to complex analysis in several variables. It contains both the classical topics and some recent results. The book begins with the elementary properties of holomorphic functions of several variables which can be deduced from single-variable holomorphic function theory. In the next chapter, currents are discussed, where a Stokes-type formula is obtained with help of the Kronecker index of two currents. The author uses this formula in the proof of the Bochner-Martinelli-Koppelman integral representation formula, which is then used to study the Cauchy-Riemann equation. Two chapters of the book are devoted to extension problems for CR functions defined both on the boundary of a bounded domain in \(\mathbb C^n\) and on all or part of the boundary of a relatively compact domain in a complex analytic manifold. Bochner's extension theorem is proved. Also, the relationship between these extension phenomena and the vanishing of certain Dolbeault cohomology groups is studied. Part of the book deals with the classical notions of domains of holomorphy, holomorphic convexity and pseudoconvexity for open sets in \(\mathbb C^n\) and the relationship between them. In particular, the solution of the Levi problem is given. The author's method is based on local resolutions of \(\overline\partial\) with Hölder estimates and results on the invariance of Dolbeault cohomology using Grauert's bumping method. The solution of the Levi problem for complex analytic manifolds is also given. Finally, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an extension of CR functions defined on a part of the boundary of a strictly pseudoconvex domain are given. Moreover, three appendices about differential manifolds, sheaf theory, and functional analysis make the book self-contained.
