A group \(G\) is said to be a totally permutable product of the subgroups \(A\) and \(B\) if \(G=AB\) and every subgroup of \(A\) permutes with every subgroup of \(B\). Thanks to the work of several authors (see the references of the paper) the behaviour of such products with respect to formations containing the supersoluble groups is well-understood in the finite universe. The present paper studies the behaviour of totally permutable products with respect to Fitting classes containing the supersoluble groups. The universe under consideration is the finite one. Although it is not known whether or not Fitting classes are closed under forming totally permutable products, the authors obtain in the paper some significant results towards the solution of the above problem. After analyzing the structure of the corresponding minimal counterexamples, they are able to prove that if the intersection of the factors \(A\) and \(B\) in a totally permutable product is contained in the hypercenter of the group \(G\), then \(G\) belongs to a Fitting class \(\mathcal F\) containing the supersoluble groups if and only if \(A\) and \(B\) belong to \(\mathcal F\). It is also proved that the Fischer classes and the Fitting formations both containing the supersoluble groups are closed under taking totally permutable products.
