One of the most striking and, at the same time, highly specific aspect of modern sciences is the interconnecting character of its branches; nowadays, as biology gains an increasingly top position in the scientific field, its most complex and intricate phenomena should be investigated by means of most modern techniques -- and the nonlinear science may provide them. Thus, all cellular, tissular, organ, etc. phenomena and connections may be dealt with in detail, simulated, and interpreted. Although having appeared only in the 70's, nonlinear science comes to be substantiated, as based on fundamental scientific concepts. Its physical and biological bases are discussed. A case study on the beating heart is also detailed in this study. At the end, a presentation of synchronous concurrent algorithms is provided. A fascinating and challenging topic, indeed, for genuine specialists.
