Considering the problem of computing the collection of groups \(\{\pi_{W+n}^H (X\vee Y)\}_{n,H}\), \(n\geq 0\), \(H\subseteq G\) where \(X\vee Y\) is the one point union of the based \(G\text{-CW}\) complexes \(X\) and \(Y\), the author constructs an equivariant homotopy spectral sequence for any finite group \(G\), any finite dimensional representation \(W\) and two suitable connected \(G\text{-CW}\) complexes \(X\) and \(Y\). After some facts on equivariant homotopy theory, in section 3 the author constructs a simplicial resolution of a based \(G\)-space \(X\) by wedges of generalized spheres and relates weak \(W\)-equivalence to \(G\)-homotopy equivalence. The problems on connectivity requirements for the \(G\)-CW-complex \(X\) and its resolution and, the spectral sequence which, for each \(H\subseteq G\) converges to \(\pi^H_{W+n} (X\vee Y)\), are presented in section 4. The category of \(\Pi (W)\)-algebras, as a generalization of Lewis' \(W\)-Mackey functors, is introduced. The equivariant van Kampen theorem appears as the edge homomorphism of a spectral sequence, that is: ``the first quadrant spectral sequence \(\{E^r_{p,q} (H)\}\), \(H\subseteq G\) converges to \(\{\pi^H_{W+p+q} (X\vee Y)\}_{p+q,H}\), \(p+q\geq 0\), and for a fixed \(p\) the collection column \(E^2_{p,*}: = \{E^2_{p,*} (H)\}_H\) is a \(\Pi(W)\)-algebra isomorphic to \(\Pi_W(X) \coprod_p \prod_W(Y)\)''. The final section extends these results to pointed homotopy colimits.
